Selectboard’s Minutes

Saturday, May 4, 2019 – 10:30 AM

 

Selectboard: Chair Margaret A. Charig Bliss, Selectman Robert Marshall, Selectwoman Karen Day

10:30 AM:  Pre-Meeting House Kick-Off preparation

At 10:30 am, the Selectboard assembled at the Meeting House. Preparations for the Meeting House Preservation Kick-Off meeting were undertaken. The new PA system was set-up; a video about Greenfield was set to play on the Meeting House presentation screen. Various handouts were laid out on tables. Copies of the LCHIP presentation in draft format were placed on the tables. Carele Mayer arrived and set up drinks. At 12:30 Administrator Patt brought lunch platters from the local market. 

1:00 PM: Meeting House Preservation Discussion

At 1:00pm the Selectboard Chair welcomed the attendees with some opening remarks and an introduction of the Friends of the Meeting House, a 501(c)(3) organization that will help with fundraising. The Chair thanked several organizations and at the conclusion of the opening remarks, introduced Sheldon Pennoyer, Chair of the Friends. After a brief welcome from Mr. Pennoyer, the attendees arranged chairs in a semi-circle and held a discussion about the Meeting House. The discussion was recorded on charts entitled “What’s It For”, “Likes/Strengths”, “Dislikes/Weaknesses”, and “Wishlist”. The group of 30+ people outlined the strengths and weaknesses of the building, their interest in different uses of the Meeting House, and held a conversation about the strength of community in years past compared to today.

At 3:05 the meeting ended.

Adjournment

At 3:15 pm Selectman Marshall made a motion to adjourn the meeting, the motion was seconded by the Selectwoman Day, the motion carried 3-0.
