NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Notice is hereby given, in accordance with RSA 675:3, II and RSA 675:7, that the Greenfield Planning Board will hold a Public Hearing at the Town Office on Monday, January 8, 2018 at 6:30 pm to consider the following amendments to the Greenfield Zoning Ordinance:

Amend the Sign Ordinance to include a statement of purpose for the regulation of permanent commercial signs, to allow greater sign size for home based business consistent with other business signage, provide clarity in the number of signs permitted and method of illumination, and update a reference to NH statutes.

Remove direct reference to sign size restriction of 3 sq. ft. maximum for Professional Uses and Home Occupations in residences. Sign size defers to Sign Ordinance maximum of 9 sq. ft. Allow illumination of signs for Professional Uses and Home Occupations as regulated in the Outdoor Lighting Ordinance. Add clarifying language for external modifications and visible displays related to such use.

Add reference to explicitly allow Professional Uses and Home Occupations in residences in the Lakeside Village District, as consistent with language allowing such use in all other districts.

Remove the definition of “Junkyards” in Section II. Definitions. Junkyards to be defined by NH Statutes as currently referenced in Section IV.F – General Regulations and Restrictions, Junkyards.

Correct references to Professional Uses and Customary Home Occupations by deletion of the word “Customary” as consistent with adopted 2017 zoning amendments.

After the Public Hearing, the Planning Board will vote to decide which amendments will be placed on the ballot for Town Meeting. A copy of the proposed Zoning Ordinance amendments is available for review at the Town Office during regular business hours. The amendments are also available on the town website via a link on the Planning Board page. Anyone needing assistance to attend the hearing should contact the Select Board Office one week before the hearing date.
