Thursday, March 3rd

Meeting was called to order at 5:31

Present: Dave Thimmel, Sarah Babb, Sean Sylvester, Mar Ann Grant, Karen Morrison, Kayla Kokal, Ashley Wadleigh, Mike Gasper, Adelle Hale, Alyssum Proctor Russell, Jack Polmer, Catrina Mamzack, Josh Paradise

The following items were discussed:

  1. Homestead Farm Expo at Oak Park by Mindful Homestead
    1. Sept 10th & 11th
    2. 4 speakers
    3. Kitchen open during event for food sales by OPC
    4. Campsite availability for people traveling
    5. Rental fee? Porta potties? Police duty needed?
    6. Vendor tents & fees TBD
    7. Possibility of presale of tickets to event
    8. Motion to adopt event under Oak Park Committee, all in favor, motion passed.
  2. Spring Clean Up Day at Oak Park
    1. Focus on baseball fields this year
    2. Possibility of sponsor banners at the ball field
    3. Field cannot be used for games for Cal Ripken League but will be used for practice
    4. Motion for Spring Clean up Day April 23rd, all in favor, motion passed
    5. Thimmel Home Builders to donate seed
    6. Will invite all Cal Ripken volunteers and players for Clean Up Day
  3. New Recreation Department – Kayla Kokal
    1. Possible swim lessons to be offered at Crotched if pool still in use
    2. Need for life guards
    3. T-ball & fall soccer
    4. National Night Out event
    5. Yoga at Park
    6. Line Dancing
  4. Kitchen Equipment Update
    1. Fryolator will be too much to install in kitchen with new fire suppression & exhaust
    2. Cheese warmer about $325
    3. Hot dog Machine $275
    4. All in favor of purchasing new hot dog warmer for kitchen, motion passed
  5. Playground Update
    1. Representative from UltiPlay in MA met with members of OPC at park to assess and give quotes for new playground pieces & layout
    2. Trees will need to be removed asap
    3. Broken spring rider to be removed asap
    4. Will need to create list of items in priority for purchase
  6. Meeting House Antique & Collectible Event
    1. Lunch items to be served& donated  by members of Oak Park Committee
    2. Motion passed
    3. Will also include donation far for OPC

Next OPC meeting will be Thursday, April 7th at 5:30 TBD(library or Oak Park).
