Meeting Minutes

11/ 17 /20

Committee members present: Chair Hunter Carbee, Betsy Hardwick, Gary Russell, Roger Lessard, Carol Irvin

The meeting called to order at 5:35 PM by Chair Hunter Carbee at the meeting room in the Historical Society building.  Minutes were accepted as written for 11/14/19 meeting

Hunter brought everyone up to speed on the current status of forest industry and the timber market.  He just received copy of the proposal from Kyle Kelly of North Country Logging, and updated contract from Karla, our forester.  He will forward to all later.  Looks like the logger can start very soon, all agreed it’s a good time of year to do the timber harvest, and agreed to move forward with doing it.  Hunter will not assist with the project now due to potential conflict of interest.  Gary will meet with the forester and the logger soon to go over the project. Discussed possibly utilizing a grant from NH Fish & Game’s small grants program for field work or other wildlife habitat improvements – will look into that later.  Gary noted that the Sportsmen’s Club is interesting in keeping some of the wood chips if there are any available.

There being no further business the meeting adjourned at 6:15
