June 27, 2018
Attendees: Roger Lessard, Karen Day, Carol Irvin, Stephanie Kokal
The meeting was called to order at 7:43 pm by Chairperson Roger Lessard. The following items were
addressed:
Accept or Amend Previous Meeting Minutes –Roger Lessard distributed the minutes and commission members
reviewed them. The minutes were accepted as written.

GCC-sponsored programs at SML – Beverly Pietlicki, Library Director, joined us to discuss the Butterfly Program
which Candi will be hosting at the Library on Wednesday, October 3rd. They discussed a time to do a Butterfly
Release, perhaps on a Saturday, as it will be too dark to do one on the evening of October 3rd. There was also
discussion of Project Coyote, and Bev gave the GCC some ideas on coyote programs that could be held. The
challenge that Bev has is finding a “best day” to hold programs. Roger asked if she had an idea of cost for the
coyote program and asked her to send contact information. Bev is excited to collaborate with the GCC on
upcoming events.

Bev mentioned that a woman who had recently moved here from Maine offered to do a fly-tying workshop
and Bev has contacted the NH Fish and Game who will also come out. She asked if the GCC would like to be a
part of that. Carol mentioned the Sportsman’s Club, who sponsor the Fishing Derby and thought Bev should
reach out to them.
There was discussion of other ideas, including the Pollinator Project.
Bringing up the well water program which will be offered August 13th, at 7:30 pm in the Wensberg Room,
Beverly was encouraged to get the Library’s water tested, too. Roger told Beverly that NHDES would like to
have at least 15 people at the water testing program.

NRI Review Status – Roger said there wasn’t anything new on the NRI.
Signage for Town Conservation properties update – The signs have all been routed, and the invoice has been
paid. As Neal is not here tonight, this will be continued.
There was discussion on the proper name of the Town Forest. Is it really the George Proctor Conservation Area
or the Greenfield Town Forest?

Well water testing for Greenfield residents offered by NHDES - Roger said that on August 19th, the Sunday the
testing kits are due back (1:00-3:00), he and Karen will be unavailable due to another commitment. Stephanie
said she could be here at the Town Hall to receive them. She could bring a folding table and chair and set up
upside the front door.
Pollinator project update - Roger said Maggie Sauvain dropped the plants off today, and most have been
planted. There is a cost of $144.
Schedule work sessions to clean up GCC files – The GCC needs to set a new date to finish going through the
“stuff” upstairs.

Other Business:
Carol still needs to be sworn in to the Commission and was reminded that Aaron Patt could do that for her.
Stephanie made a motion to adjourn; Carol seconded. All were in favor (4-0).
The meeting adjourned at 8:32 pm.
The next regular meeting of the Greenfield Conservation Commission will be July 25, 2018 at 7:30 pm.
Minutes respectfully submitted by Janice Pack to Roger Lessard for approval, corrections,
distribution, and posting.
