Selectboard’s Minutes

Monday, August 21, 2023 – 5:30 PM

Selectboard: Chairman Michael Borden, Selectman Tom Bascom. Absent - Selectman Mason Parker

Staff: Aaron Patt, Town Administrator;

Public: Michael Razza, Brantwood Camp Trustee

5:30 PM: Michael Razza, Brantwood Camp Trustee

The Chair opened the meeting at 5:30 pm and welcomed Michael Razza, Brantwood Camp Trustee. The Chair shared opening remarks and discussed a Payment in Lieu of Taxes (PILOT) arrangement between the Town of Greenfield and Brantwood Camp. The Chair outlined the costs associated with providing emergency services, annual fire and building inspections, and assessment of the Camp’s properties as required by the State of New Hampshire. Selectman Bascom referenced the tax cards for the Boy’s Camp and the Girl’s Camp, which indicated that the valuation is getting close to $3M in overall value, which if taxed at full value would result in an annual tax bill of $78,000. The Board outlined the need of the Camp to file its annual list in a timely manner, and requested that the Camp provide a PILOT consistent with the services outlined. Mr. Razza indicated that Brantwood Camp is interested in being a good neighbor. Trustee Razza requested information on the current PILOTs in Greenfield to bring back to the Brantwood Camp Trustee Board. At the conclusion of the conversation the Chair thanked Mr. Razza for this time.

There being no further business, the Board voted to adjourn.

At 6:17 pm, Selectman Bascom made a motion to adjourn the meeting; the motion was seconded by the Chair. The motion carried 2-0.
