Selectboard’s Minutes

Tuesday, July 20, 2021 – 3:00 PM

Selectboard: Chairman Robert Marshall, Selectman Michael Borden, Selectman Mason Parker

Staff: Aaron Patt, Town Administrator; Katherine Heck, Treasurer

3:00 PM: Grants, Gifts, and Donations – Selectboard Workshop

The meeting was called to order at 3:00pm by Chairman Marshall. The Chair welcomed Treasurer Heck to the meeting. Treasurer Heck provided a presentation on the need for a Town Grants/Gifts Policy to the Selectboard. The Selectboard discussed the number of current grants that the town and its outside organizations are applying to on behalf of the town. The Selectboard discussed the need to establish a 5-10 year strategy for town government that can make use of supplemental income (grants and gifts). Treasurer Heck explained that the annual budget is a comprehensive one year plan. The Selectboard needs to build a long range capital plan as part of an overarching financial plan. The Board can also promote a long range vision for the community in order to help land-use boards determine what changes to zoning are necessary for the health of the community. At the end of the workshop, the Selectboard discussed the architecture of government from the vantage point of the long range plan.

Selectman Parker left the meeting at 4:00 PM. The Board continued conversations for a brief period of time.

There being no further business the Board voted to adjourn.

Adjournment

At 4:22 pm, Selectman Borden made a motion to adjourn the meeting; the motion was seconded by the Chair. The motion carried 2-0.
