Board of Cemetery Trustees

LOCATION: Greenvale Cemetery outside
PRESENT: Trustee Lee LeBlanc, former Trustees Margaret A. Charig Bliss and Ron Lucas, incoming Trustees Ray Cilley and Mike Merzi, Sexton Merrill Villemore.
In New Business, the Trustees:
INTRODUCED New Members, elected in March.
DISCUSSED the transfer of electronic and paper files and helping the new trustees gain knowledge and assume authority for the sale of burial sites, the burial of the dead and the maintenance and betterment of the cemeteries.
DISCUSSED ongoing projects that were suspended with the Covid town-wide spending freeze: Row-and-plot markers for Greenvale Cemetery, to help visitors find grave stones; completion of the repointing of the interior of the front stone wall.
ELECTED Ray Cilley chairman of the newly constituted board.
RECEIVED A REPORT from Ms. Charig Bliss that arrangements had been made to have Jarvis Adams IV turn on the water in Greenvale Cemetery.
DISCUSSED bids received for repair of the stone wall and iron gate broken in a car accident during the winter. Bids will be considered when insurance estimates are finalized.
In old business, the Trustees:
NOTED two burials held over during the winter when the cemetery was closed.
DISCUSSED the ongoing need for the installation of corner stones at the time of sale of plots.
