1000 Books Before Kindergarten

1000 Books Before Kindergarten
Join us for the 1000 Books before Kindergarten Challenge!

The single most important thing you can do to prepare your child to read is to read to them every day.  Research shows that children who hear 1000 books before kindergarten helps them to read independently, increases their vocabulary, and their listening and narrative skills.  Reading with your children will help to instill in them self--awareness, confidence, and an understanding of their place in the world.

We will give you sheets to help you to keep count of the first 100 books.  When you finish reading 100 books, come back to the library for another sheet and choose a book prize for your child.

Register anytime your child is between birth and five years old.

It can be done!  Let us help you get started today!
